SMS Terms & Consent

How HelloDrive uses text messages — and how you opt in, opt out, and get help.

Effective Date: May 8, 2026

Live opt-in language

How we ask for your consent

Below is the exact opt-in users see during account onboarding, after they enter their mobile number. The checkbox is unchecked by default — users must affirmatively check it to receive text messages from HelloDrive.

The same opt-in checkbox is shown in the Guardian invitation flow before any text is ever sent to a parent or guardian's mobile number.

1Program description

HelloDrive operates a transactional and informational SMS program for students enrolled in our Ohio online driver education course, and for the parents or guardians those students invite. The program is operated by HelloDrive, LLC.

Message types include: lesson reminders, daily streak nudges, quiz and unit milestone congratulations, course-completion notifications, certificate-ready notifications, and (for guardians) weekly progress summaries.

2How users opt in

Users opt in by entering their mobile phone number during account onboarding (students) or in the guardian invitation form (parents/guardians) and then affirmatively checking the SMS consent checkbox shown above. The checkbox is not pre-checked. Users may complete account setup and use HelloDrive without opting in to text messages — SMS consent is not a condition of purchase or of access to the course.

3Message frequency

Message frequency varies based on user activity. Most students receive between 2 and 6 messages per week while their course is active. Guardians who opt in receive at most 1 weekly progress summary, plus occasional milestone messages (typically fewer than 4 per month).

4Costs

HelloDrive does not charge a fee for SMS messages. Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier and plan. Contact your wireless provider for details on your messaging plan.

5How to opt out — STOP

You can cancel the SMS program at any time by replying STOP to any HelloDrive text message. After you send STOP, we will send you one final confirmation message and you will no longer receive SMS from HelloDrive. You can also turn off SMS at any time from your account at hellodrive.io/app → Settings → Notifications.

If you want to receive HelloDrive text messages again after opting out, you can re-enable SMS in your account settings or sign up again through the onboarding flow.

6How to get help — HELP

Reply HELP to any HelloDrive text message and we will respond with information about the program and how to contact support. You can also reach our team any time at support@hellodrive.io.

7Supported carriers

HelloDrive SMS messages are supported by all major U.S. wireless carriers, including AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless, Sprint, Boost, U.S. Cellular, MetroPCS, Cricket, and others. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

8Privacy

Mobile information (phone numbers) collected for the SMS program will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. We share phone numbers only with our SMS service provider (Twilio) for the sole purpose of sending the messages you opted in to receive. See our full Privacy Policy for more information about how we handle your data.
